I had a lovely massage and facial here, however, the music in the massage and facial rooms were too loud and not very calming. The music was more suited to a road trip with your friends instead of peaceful and relaxing. The interior of the rooms was also a letdown. There was no ambiance and mood lighting. It just looked outdated and plain.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the other reviews, I have been many times over the last 15 years but it has become too expensive for what you get. They really need to look at their pricing model and work out how to make it better value for customers. I would suggest incorporating the Sanctuary into the Bathhouse - I would pay no more than $45 - 50 for this combined experience.

Like other reviews, the price for the overall experience did not seem worth it. The spa rooms in the sanctuary were not overly impressive. There also seemed to be quite a few people using the facilities at the one time which made it less relaxing. The massage prices were very expensive for the service that you received and the time allocated...

The waiting room (pre-massage) and massage rooms were quite cold - given you are waiting in your robe. It would be better if the rooms were heated while you wait around as it would help you relax and get in the zone

This was a real shame when you travel a long way only to be met with sub-par facilities / service

    Save your money.

I visited the bath house in July 2019, me and my partner went for the ‘Sanctuary Retreat Package’ I found it to be very over priced.

For $269 we got access to the two standard spas. I think the usual price is $49 per person for access to these. These two spas had more of a local council swimming pool feel about them rather than a luxury spa. It also gave us access to the Sanctuary Retreat section. The semi outdoor spa was the highlight, perfect on a cold winters day. Unfortunately one of the saunas was not working and the monsoon showers were cold and were more like a trickle than a monsoon. Neither of these had any out of order signs on them, you just had to find out for yourself.

There were empty water cups sitting around and the place just seemed a little unkept.

The showers were either missing shampoo or conditioner or both. I also found a clump of hair in the bottom of my shower.

The scones and tea served at the completion in the cafe were delicious and the service in the cafe was outstanding.

In summary - save your $$$.

Tourist trap. Can not recommend to anyone at this price. I’ve been to a number of similar spas around the world and can safely say that this is very much on the low end for experience and the high end for pricing.

Paid $200 for the two of us to visit ‘the sanctuary’.

None of the spa pools or steam rooms were even vaguely hot enough.

The salt pool was noticeably lacking in actual salt making it just another tepid spa pool.

The general maintenance of the place is poor with rust stains and dirty grouting everywhere.

Some change room showers ran cold, some surge temperature as other people turn their faucets on and off. Many of the mixers were missing handles so you had to rotate the stump directly.

I’ve no idea what’s going on with the management at this place - but it’s pretty clear they’re going through an extreme cost cutting exercise of some kind.

The 2-star rating is because all the staff I met were pleasant and polite (and they have my sympathies). Otherwise it’d be a 1-star from me.

It wasn't bad, but was overpriced. I had a good time but the basic bath house entry was not worth it. If it included the sanctuary it would be. To get my repeat business it would need to be $25 for basic entry and $50 for sanctuary to create value
